Accommodation

All of our 7 ensuite bedrooms offer comfort and quality whilst having an individuality of their own. They are all furnished with the antique furniture which has been in this home for years and which complements the period features to be found here.

We have seven bedrooms which are Kingsize, double and twins and one of them has a Four Poster bed.

Modern day comforts are available and all rooms benefit from multi channel TV, DVD/CD player, radio with ipod docking station internet access and tea & coffee making facilities.

We have 2 rooms which are suitable as family rooms for those with small children and for those with older children or in a party we can offer a combination of rooms to keep you all together.
Cots, highchairs and booster seats are available on request. 
 

Lady Harriet's Room

Lady Harriet's bathroom Lady Harriet Holland, a great Yorkshire heiress came to the Manor after her marriage to her second husband Sir Nathanial Dance Holland With views across the south facing garden to the church on the hill this large room offers a comfortable double bed and an ensuite with a bath. This room is also available as a family room.
 
 

Sir Nathaniel's Room

Sir Nathanial's RoomSir Nathanial Dance Holland was a founder member of the Royal Academy of Arts and a portrait artist himself although after he married lady Harriet he put down his brushes and took up politics.

This room has lovely views across the garden to the church and also across the fields to the meadow. It has a double bed and can also be used as a family room.


The Cardigan Room

The Cardigan RoomThe Earl of Cardigan inherited The Manor from his aunt, Lady Harriet Holland. A fabulous four poster bed graces this room and is complemented with antique furniture and a roll top bath.

 

 

Mrs Smith's Room

Mrs Smith's RoomMrs. Smith came to the Manor on her marriage to the Colonel and it was to be her family home for more than forty years. She had been a midwife and her love of children was apparent as she filled the Manor not only with her own children but nephews, nieces and foster children. Later she opened the doors of the Manor to Bed & Breakfast guests to share her beautiful home and now the next generation is building on her legacy.

Our ground floor bedroom with ensuite shower has glorious views in to the garden. It benefits from twin beds and is suitable for some disabled access.

The Colonel's Room

The Colonels RoomColonel George Smith was involved in the military for almost all of his life. He bought The Manor sixty years ago and farmed the Estate and it remains in the family today.

A fine period fireplace features in this double room with a view of the front gardens.


The Heathcote Room

The Heathcote RoomThe Reverend Samuel Heathcote bought the Manor from Lord Cardigan and he and his family lived here for about 50 years. This Double room with a very unusual period fireplace overlooks the old Coach house and when booked with Sir Nathanial's room offers a perfect solution for keeping a party together.

 
 
 
 

The Seymour Room

The Seymour RoomThe Manor was owned at one point in its history by Lady Jane Seymour's family. The house would have been quite different then as it underwent extensive alteration in 1700. In the middle of the house this twin bedded room has views across the south facing garden to the church on the hill. Coupled with Lady Harriet's Room a party can be kept together.
