“Lovely stay!”
Reviewed January 27, 2012 NEW
We only stayed here for a night as a little getaway... It was lovely. As soon as we came up the drive we knew it would be something special, the building is stunning. The staff are very friendly and helpful and are not imposing but there if you need anything. The décor has the real wow factor as most items are antiques and the rooms have a real historical feel to them. We stayed in the colonels room and were told on the phone that it was the smallest... We were not disappointed as the room was plenty big enough for the two of us, cosy, clean, beautifully decorated, lovely views with a window seat. Great touch with the DVD player (with a bookcase full of DVDs downstairs) and ipod dock too. No bath but perfectly fine en-suite with shower. The food is delicious, we also went for the evening meal aswell as the breakfast. The partridge pate was just gorgeous! Very close to Stonehenge... Wish we could have spent more time there :)

We loved the sense of history, the quirkiness of the small doors/wonky frames etc. It was great to hear about the famous people who had previously lived in the manor. The staff were very welcoming, it was almost like staying with favourite cousins. Our room was spotless, cosy and spacious, and there was plenty of hot water when required. As our booking was made during a time of stress, given we were moving to the other side of the world, I had missed noticing that booking.com had incorrectly booked our stay. The woman who runs Rollestone was very obliging, and was able to change our room to one more suitable, without the slightest hesitation or difficulty. They understood the foibles of children, and made life very easy for us whilst there. We absolutely loved staying there and would do so again should we have the chance.  02/01/2012 (booking.com)

The staff were very friendly, polite and professional, the location was perfect as we were visiting Stonehenge, The room was lovely and the restaurant in the hotel was very practical. 10/01/2012 (booking.com)

“Fantastic B&B”

 Reviewed 18 January 2012

What a fantasitic place, the B&B is in an excellent position just a couple of miles from Stonehenge.
My partner and I spent a night there, it was a fantastic break.
The house is very imposing and historic, our room was the utmost luxury, fantasic quality and decor.
The owners are the nicest people, the husband and wife team do an excellent job. The evening meal we had was excellent and the husband (sorry cant recall his name) was very attentive.
All in all i dont think i could say enough nice things about this stay and the owners.

“Cosy atmosphere, warm service, good food - spot on!”

The owners were really welcoming and made sure we were well looked after. The building itself has lots of character, and our room overlooked a church where Jane Seymour was baptised, which was a real treat. The cooked breakfast was just what we needed after an early visit to Stonehenge. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

A great find!
We stayed at The Manor for one night to break up a journey from the West Country back to London. A warm welcome awaited us. The reception rooms were all decorated for Christmas and were very inviting. Our room was beautiful, with a comfy bed and lovely crisp white sheets. Dinner at the Manor was excellent even if the menu is limited. Breakfast was also very good - a standard selection of cereals and yogurts and a great cooked breakfast. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Wonderfull Place, Wonderfull Experience
We had a lovely weekend at The Manor - Paula and Cyrille gave us a very warm welcome. This was a birthday treat and it did not disapoint!! Laura - one of their staff, was very proffessional and could not do enough for us - an absolute gem!

Would go back tomorrow if we could!! The food was outstanding (we had dinner there on our first night). Breakfast was superb beautifully cooked and a lovely relaxed atmosphere made for a "home from home" atmosphere, although i don't have a four poster bed at home!!.

home from home and made to feel very welcome"

really pleasant and relaxing. We were made to feel very welcome and as if nothing was an effort. All our meals were deliciously fresh and cooked to order and our children were looked after really well. A fab location and great for all the local history. Highly recommended!

location is great, food was brilliant, rooms were very comfy and unique. It was nice to stay in location with character and history as opposed to the boring run of the mill hotels. Also wifi is free!

Dear 'The Manor'

Accommodation 10 October 2011

Thank you for accommodating the family on the 10th October.

The dinner, accommodation and breakfast was superb and staying at the manor with all its history within is something special.

A short visit to the church on the hilltop completed a wonderful experience.

A five star experience, with every attention paid to details that are so important.

From the first welcome at the door, I felt relaxed and was delighted when shown to my room. At all times I felt at home, and found everything I needed for a comfortable stay. It was a shame that I could only stay for one night, as I slept better than I normally do, and enjoyed an excellent breakfast which prepared me well for a difficult day ahead.

Welcoming hosts, charming hotel in a quiet location, excellent facilities in the room and en suite. Excellent breakfast. Lovely gardens.

Would recommend to a friend

As good as ever!

We stayed at the manor this weekend for the third time, and still love it! We come every year and stay over before going horseriding at the White Horse Trekking Centre.

We were aware of the change of management before we arrived but were not disappointed at all! Paula was lovely and welcoming and accomodating throughout our stay - and the food was absolutely fantastic so I think that Paula and Cyril have done a fantastic job in maintaining equally high standards.

I read a lot of comments about the road on here. From our experiences the road really is not a problem - we were outside after dinner and it was silent and peaceful! Certainly compared to London anyway!

Delightful Hotel

Reviewed 4 October 2011

We stayed for 4 nights and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a lovely large room which was very clean. Being a Coeliac I have had problems with my diet in the past, Paula and Cyrille were extremely helpful doing their utmost to serve Gluten Free meals. Could not fault the breakfast. We had an evening meal every night and it was excellent. I even had Gluten Free biscuits in my room, a first for me. They and their staff were very hospitable and kind. Would certainly recommend.

Excellent and friendly hotel

Reviewed 5 October 2011

I often work away from home in the amesbury / Salisbury areas and it is important to me to stay somewhere where I can relax and unwind at the end of a long day. Good food and comfortable rooms are essential requirements.

The manor hotel certainly meets all of the above and the exceptionally friendly and helpful owners have made me feel very welcome. I have now stayed as a guest for several weeks and intend to continue Book in.

As a side note the hotel is excellently located close to stonehenge and Salisbury

Lovely welcoming hotel

Reviewed 9 October 2011

Have just had a wonderful family get together weekend staying at the Manor, the young lady who greeted us was a delight, very helpful and friendly. One of our group is a wheelchair user and the staff couldn't have helped us more, they were very accommodating to our needs. Paula too showed us that nothing was too much trouble for them. We ate in the restaurant the first night and had the most enjoyable meal. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard with tea/coffee making facilities replenished every day. We would definitely return to the Manor for another stress free weekend.

We thought the hotel was lovely - large spacious room. Shame there wasn't one more armchair which there was space for as we like to sit in the room and had to use a small chair. Also the duvet was winter weight and too hot & heavy for summer, though the bed was comfortable. Slight shame that the dining and breakfast rooms were furnished in modern style rather than antique like the bedroom which was more in keeping with the building. Liked reading about the history of the Manor House in the information folder. Lovely food and very reasonable prices and lovely breakfast - it was great to choose exactly what you wanted. Would definitely stay here again if in that part of the country.
- Liked most of it except lack of another armchair in the room as mentioned above and there were a couple of spot stains on the carpet in the room - you could probably get these off with Vanish!

Great option close to Stonehenge

Reviewed 20 August 2011

My wife and I stayed here for a night, and loved the whole experience. The room was very comfortable, and the dinner and breakfast were excellent. A great option if you want to stay close to Stonehenge.

Stayed July 2011, travelled as a couple

We stayed here following our wedding, we book this back at the start of the year and were unaware of the change of ownership after our booking. Luckily we called to confirm everything as none of our previous arrangements had been passed over to the new owners, which meant that our agreed plans had to be changed.
The Manor was very nice as we knew from previous visits here for Xmas dinners etc. We stayed in the room with the 4 poster bed and rol top bath. Slightly strange having the bath at the end of the bed, but a very comfortable room. We had a bottle of Champagne in the the room on arrival, and was a little shocked a the bill for this the next morning!
Breakfast was good, you have to let the know what time you would like to eat the night before.

Our reply:

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and maybe because of the change of ownership, there was a mis-understanding over the arrangements.  With us, if a guest requests any additional items for their room, ie, chocolates, strawberries or champagne, there is a charge for that item.  Perhaps this wasn’t made clear, and if so, I apologise.  We wish you both all the best for the future, and we’ll maybe see you back for your anniversary.

Rollestone Manor, Shrewton

We stayed overnight at The Rollestone Manor to celebrate our daughter's Civil Partnership. There were ten of us in the party. Paula and Cyril were the most wonderful hosts and really spoiled us all, especially our Happy Couple. We had an excellent evening meal and even the dietary peculiarities of our young bridesmaid were cheerfully dealt with. This was probably the only time that poor Cyril even considered serving Heinz tomato soup from his splendid kitchen!

Everyone said their rooms were clean and comfortable - the showers are fantastic!

We all reconvened the next morning for a big family breakfast.

At no time were we made to feel we were a nuisance and all the staff gave us plenty of time to really celebrate our memorable occasion. We made a bit of a mess with table confetti and I offered to get the hoover out and clear it up, but Paula said it was proof that we had a good time and would not hear of it.

This hotel is an absolute gem!

“Fantastic!!!!”

 Reviewed 14 July 2011

Myself and 2 colleagues stayed here on a Friday night and then returned on Monday for 4 nights, as we were mobilising our catering facility at tedworth house nearby. The rooms were very clean and the bed was extremely comfy ( I actually miss that bed! )
Tea/coffee/biscuits and bottled water were provided daily in the rooms, along with shampoo/shower gel etc. The bathroom was fab and they were great power showers.

We ate there on one evening and it was delicious, I recommend the goats cheese starter.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owner Paula....... she got up early to make us an early breakfast so we could get on the road..... and stayed up late so we could have a chill out pint on our return! ( fantastic pint of Fosters!)

We would certainly stay here again, it was an absolute pleasure!

Thanks Paula !!

Pleased us very well. The rooms were large and comfortable. The meal was very good 24/06/11

A quiet old country house with character.
This was a lovely old house with some history to it and character, ideally located for visiting Stonehenge and surrounding areas.
The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had a double room with ensuite which was nicely sized, traditional furniture with a nice comfy bed. There was a good choice for breakfast, ranging from full English down to cereal and toast. It was good quality and nicely cooked. We did not have an evening meal at The Manor, a lack of planning on our part more so, but the restaurant looked very nice as did the menu and not overpriced.
Only two things to pick on for us, our shower head was faulty and wouldn’t stay in position. The staff did apologise without me pointing it out and explained that it was due to be replaced. Also, we found our room dusty, particularly the television and the windows. Nothing major.
In all we were quite happy and would stay at The Manor again.

“Quaint”

 Reviewed June 23, 2011

Wasn't too sure what to expect.  From the front it looked a little shabby but in truth when we got inside were pleasantly suprised.  The rooms were of excellent size plenty of room and good bathroom/wc.  Has a very nice meal in the restaurant and food was very good.
Lady had just taken over the lease from a management company who ran it before for the owners of the property.  Her personal touch showed, and though I can't rave over an old building for us it was an extremely peasant stay and would not hesitate to return.
Beware the main stairs to first floor, a little steep and rickety.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

“Fantastic B&B and I'll be Back!!”
Stayed June 2011 What a great little find - I was greated by Paula who showed me to my room which was wonderful - Great views across the fields and beyond to the local Church.
I had a quick shower which was really powerful and most welcome.

The Full English Breakfast was first class and Hot.
I found out that Paula and her husband had only taken over The Manor 24hrs prior to my arrival - Bravo for a
